Mouth-Blown Antique Glass
Since 1826, the glassmakers of Saint-Just have been creating beautiful sheets of Antique Glass. Located in Southern France, Saint-Just produces some of the finest hand blown antique glass in the world. Each sheet is mouth-blown in the centuries old traditional method. The skilled blowers bring life and movement to the surface of the glass, so that each sheet acquires its own individual character, revealing the beauty of its imperfection. The naturally rich quality of this glass makes it suitable for stained glass creations, restoration work and many architectural applications.

Barioles

A Look At Some Of The Bariolés To Illustrate
Their Uniqueness and Beauty

Bariolés
Bariolés are flashed streakies produced in the traditional way - from cylinders of mouth-blown glass. These cylinders are then cut, flattened and annealed to produce a unique, high quality product. Each hand made sheet is a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

There are several different colours of Bariolés for you to choose from. Sheet sizes are approximately 33”x27”, and thickness ranges from 2.5mm-5.0mm.

How To Incorporate Them Into Your Designs
Imagine the beautiful effect of the mirroring behind some of the Bariolés. White on Clear Bariolés can be laminated and mirrored, creating a vibrant Black and White. Panels can be glued to a specific metal structure with amazing and unique, contemporary effect. Laminated Bariolés is another option. Used as an elegant table top, this simple idea creates a focal point in the room, while at the same time, standing alone as a stunning work of art. For exaple of these, please view our full catalogue, page D-26.

How To Order
Bariolés are very different from each other. This is what makes this glass unique and the reason your design will stand out from the ordinary. There are several different types. We do stock a limited selection of them, however all types may be special ordered for you. Please inquire about our current stock and your ordering options. Go to The Saint-Just Bariolès Collection and view them in full colour (make sure to scroll through the entire collection).

Flashed Opals
This glass requires a considerable degree of expertise, as it is created during blowing by coating a molten coloured enamel on a clear base material (colour on clear flashed glass) or on a coloured base material (colour on colour flashed glass).

Craquels
Crackle glass (CR) has a slightly uneven surface, produced by suddenly immersing the cylinder in water.
